Hello! Long time no see?
I just wanted to write a little life update on what has been happening since I last wrote a post. Work life, personal life, just life in general! It's been a long time and I'm sorry! I am going to try to get back into blogging and hopefully will be writing at least one blog post a week. I also want to update the look of my blog, I've been planning this for ages and mentioned it a few times but I am actually going to get round to doing it!! But anyway, what's been going on?
So last time you saw me it was June 2017, exactly one year ago now! A lot has happened since then, I had just finished university and had my final degree show. I finished university with a 2:1 in Fashion Design with Honours and I was happy and very relieved - uni is hard work! A course in fashion design is really fun but it is a lot of hours of work, late nights and stress! Although I enjoyed it, I am glad it is over and never have to have a lesson in anything or get marked on something ever again!
My final university collection was based on a few things; a combination of 80's fashion lingerie/pyjama design, bikers, figure skating, with a bit of inspiration taken from old family photos. My final collection was 6 outfits with a pastel colour theme, and although it wasn't what I originally planned on doing, I loved it!
Around this time I also moved into an amazing house with my lovely boyfriend, which we love so much! We are very lucky to have been able to get a house of this size, in this area - living in Manchester is expensive, but we love it here!
Straight after university, I was offered an internship at a fashion brand, I won't get into it too much but I didn't enjoy it there for various reasons and it had a huge impact on my happiness, and thats probably why I stopped blogging. I know I was busy during university so it slowed down my blog posts, but while I was doing this internship, I just didn't want to blog at all!
After 6 months, I decided to move on. I went to an interview at Saint Genies, and was immediately offered the job! I started there the next week and I can happily say since November, I have been designing clothes which have been selling at some of your favourite brands! Saint Genies is a wholesale fashion supplier, which means that my work is now sold at various fashion brand including Pretty Little Thing, In The Style, Miss Pap, Missy Empire, Rebellious and loads more. I love going onto Instagram and seeing my designs worn on bloggers, influencers and just regular people! I've even spotted my designs on this years Love Island already!!! I will be showing my AW18 collection at Pure London in July and I can't wait! Tickets are free online so come and see me and my work!
So in my work life, I'm pretty happy! I am still always on the look out for new career opportunities and in the future I do want to start my own brand. And because of that, in my personal life, I am also a lot happier! I bought myself a new car! Not many people, at my age, can say that they funded their car completely by themselves, and because of this, I am proud of myself! And we are now looking to buy a new house - I'm so excited to have a new kitchen, a garden which I can plant flowers in and a sitting room which I can paint grey! I am also currently trying to convince Peter to let me paint a bedroom or even the front door pink! #convincethepink I feel so grown up!

GOALS |
So as I said earlier, I am going to try extremely hard to post at least one blog post a week! I am so much happier so I have no excuse now haha! University and getting into the Fashion Industry is hard, but you will get there if you really want it and try hard! I want to write a blog post on getting into the industry, which will hopefully help with people who are wanting to start out as mainly designers, but I can also maybe help those who want to become stylists, garment technologists and also social media within fashion. I also then want to write some blog posts on interior design as I start to decorate our new house. Obviously the main posts I will be doing will always be fashion or beauty related though!
As usual, follow me on any of my social medias to see what I've been up to! And from this weekend, expect regular blog posts (hopefully!)
Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a blog post with advice on fashion design at uni, starting in the fashion industry, or just any new clothing or beauty brands you think I should check out, I'd love to hear from you!
