My Top 5 Drugstore Lip Products

23 July 2014

Number 5 : Collection Gothic Glam
My fifth favourite drugstore lip product has got to be Collection's Gothic Glam Lipstick in 02 Scorned. This lipstick is only £2.99 at Superdrug (here) and is definitely worth the money! It comes in three different colours, the purple one I have, a dark plum and a dark red. The colour payoff is excellent and with only one coat, it look amazing. It also lasts a good few hours before wearing off! If you're looking for a cheap and cheerful dark purple (almost black!) lipstick, then this is the one for you!

Number 4 : Maxfactor Flipstick
It was really had to choose my fourth favourite, but I have eventually decided on Maxfactor's Colour Effect Flipstick in 01 Petit Lancy (now named Boreal Mauve). This lipstick is double ended and the shade I got it in, is a lovely pinky purple colour at one end, with and iridescent lavender colour at the other. As its double ended, you can create all sorts of looks, but what I like to do the most is an ombre lip. So I start with the lightest shade towards the inner parts of my lips, then work out to the darker shade. This gives a really cool effect and also gives the illusion of a plumper lip. This lipstick is £8.49 at Superdrug (here). I also have the red and gold one (Gipsy Red) but have misplaced it :(

Number 3 : Collection Cream Puff Lip Cream
This is one of my most favourite lip products I have ever bought! It is described as a velvety soft, matte moisturising lip cream, and that is exactly what it is! I really wish this came in more shades, but at the moment, there is only four. I have both the peachy one (03 Fairy Cake) and the pink one (01 Cotton Candy) and I cannot decide which I like the most out of the two. At only £2.99 (here)  I do not understand why anyone wouldn't want to buy it! The product has a gorgeous vanilla scent and it glides on the lips so easily. It takes under a minute to dry and looks so amazing and matte, without drying out the lips, which a lot of matte products do!

Number 2 : Rimmel London 1000 Kisses Lip Tint
This lip tint is, without a doubt, the best lip tint I have ever used. I have the shade 110 Stay Very Berry, with is a bright pink colour, and can be darkened, by applying more coats. This lip tint is double ended, with the actual tint, in a pen tip, at one side, and a clear lip balm at the other. The tint itself if amazing! It lasts literally all day and does not wear off after eating or drinking. It is also extremely easy to apply, has no scent whatsoever and dries in no time. Unfortunately  Superdrug and Boots don't stock it anymore, but it can be bought online at many places, for the same price as on the highstreet. Buy it at Asos here.

Number 1 : MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquer
Where can I start with saying how absolutely amazing this product is?? This product is the first one from MUA's range that I have ever liked. It is a lip lacquer that dries completely matte. I have the shade Kooky, which is a blue toned purple, which means that It makes your teeth look stunningly white! The product is only £3 (here) but looks and feels like it should be so much more. The casing of the product looks so sleek, with its simple matte black top and frosted glass bottle. This product glides on so easily and takes about 5 minutes to dry. The drying time is the only downside to this product, its definitely not one which you can just sweep on and be out the door, it does take time, but as soon as its dry, its staying! Even though this product is matte, it doesn't dry out your lips. I urge you all to try out this product! It is incredible! I will be buying lots more shades!!
