20 December 2015

Move over dress! This season its all about the Little Black Playsuit! I was sent this gorgeous playsuit by Luxemme *, and I love it! Luxemme is an up and coming brand from Manchester (where I live!) who sell amazing pieces at a great price, mixing Parisian chic with a cool, urban Manchester twist.

This jumpsuit is the perfect mix of revealing and covered up! perfect for the festive party season! I love the style of this playsuit, as the shorts are wide legged, giving that dress, but not dress look. There is mesh sleeves to keep you warm this winter, as well as a pretty cut out back and front panel.

This playsuit is extremely comfortable, however when ordering, I would suggest going a size down to your usual. As the one I received was slightly too big for me.

Luxemme have a great range of playsuits and jumpsuits for all types of occasions. They also regularly update their Limited Edition collection and have a celebrity range so you can look like your favourite style icon!

Click here to see their range! Also, use my referral code to get 10% off every purchase you make! Simply add juliette-stephenson into the promo code box at the checkout.

Here I have styled it just by itself, with a pop of colour in the shoes and in the lip. But I would probably wear this type of outfit to a restaurant for a fancy meal with friends for example, so here, I have shown what its like with an oversized long wool coat
over the top.

I have also paired the playsuit with these amazing 90s inspired chunky sandals. They will bring a pop of colour to any outfit as they are the prettiest, but brightest shade of lilac I have ever seen on shoes! These are on sale in H&M at the moment so get there to pick up a pair before they're gone!

Playsuit - £35 - Luxemme (click here) *
Wool Coat - £30 - Primark
Shoes - £9.99 - H&M

Keep an eye out on my twitter for an exclusive giveaway for £15 worth of vouchers to spend on Luxemme, just in time to treat yourself to the perfect christmas outfit!

Pretty Ears - from the Body Jewellery Shop *

15 December 2015

I was contacted by Body Jewellery Shop and asked if I would like to try out some of their ear piercing jewellery. I jumped at the chance as I am a massive fan of piercings and love finding girly pieced of jewellery to wear. After looking through their website, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of pretty pieces of jewellery, as some piercing jewellery can look a bit scary and too metaly (if you get what I mean!)

Firstly, I chose to receive this Moon Stud. I was really impressed with it as its very pretty, without being over the top sparkly. The silver moon has a really nice shine, and 3 different shaped diamonds in it. The stud is meant of the tragus piercing, however I believe its too big for there, so I wore it in my helix (cartilage) piercing.

The stud is made from surgical steel and sterling silver, therefore you shouldn't get any nasty rashes off it. If you do have an allergy to these metals (mainly the steel, like me)
I would suggest wearing it only for a few hours, then swapping it back to the one you wore before. This will avoid any redness or anything.

Next I chose to try out this set of 5 jewel studs. These really impressed me when I first opened them as they were the perfect size, small but not tiny! They also were very sparkly and clean looking. In this picture, I chose to wear the tiny star in my conch piercing. How cute?!

These studs are made from bioflex, which is a biocompatible, flexible, plastic-like material mainly, which means that it won't cause metal allergy sufferers any redness or anything. The small stud that fits onto the bar though, is made from sterling silver. In the pack, you get a set of 5 tops, and one bar to fit them too. This means you can change up your look without having to remove the bar! You get a star, a triangle, a classic circle shape, a square and a heart.

Overall, I am very impressed with the Body Jewellery Shop! I sometimes am a bit weary of buying body jewellery online, with my metal allergy, however, this site always tells you what material the jewellery is made from, and also sells products made from real gold, to titanium, to surgical steel, so theres something for everyone.

The site also sells jewellery for almost every piercing! Not only ears, like these, but belly button bars, nose rings and even fake piecing jewellery incase you're a bit scared to get the real thing! To check out their site, click here.

Missguided's New Nightwear Collection *

12 October 2015

Missguided have brought out a nightwear/pyjama collection!!
I've been a huge fan of Missguided for years, so when I found out that they have finally brought out a new nightwear range; with nightshirts, pyjama sets, dressing gowns and teddies, I was so excited!

The collection is amazing, click here to see the range, and I was lucky enough to receive some of their first few sets to show you. I love what I have been sent so I couldn't wait to get them on and lounge about!

This is the first pair of pyjamas I received. Its a long sleeved, super comfortable teddy,
or in everyday terms, playsuit. It wraps over the front, ties at the waist and the shorts on the bottom of it have split sides, making your legs look longer and your body more curvy. I love the colour of it too, the one I got is the grey, however it has a slight lilac tinge to it, which I love. This set also comes in black and burgundy.

I love this playsuit/teddy so much that I would actually wear it out too! Get straight out of bed and into university!

Long Sleeved Wrap Teddy in Grey - £15

The other set I received was this blah blah blah cropped pyjama set. I've never seen pyjamas with this style top before, but I love it! The top is that 90s halter style crop top that is very popular right now, and the shorts, like the teddy, are high waisted and have a side split. I think these pyjamas are slightly too big, so you may want to go down a size when ordering. These pyjamas are black with the 'blah blah blah' being a metallic rose gold!

I'd also wear this top out too! And maybe even the shorts in summer!

Blah Blah Blah Pyjama Set - £18

I love Missguided's new nightwear collection, and as they bring out more pieces, I'll be posting some more! So keep your eyes peeled!

Boohoo September Style Icon *

5 October 2015

I was challenged by Boohoo.com to recreate Kylie Jenner's outfit, using items from their site. I jumped at the challenge! Who wouldn't want to look like their style icon, using a budget of only £30?

Here's the look I was challenged to recreate.

I love this outfit, and think its great for the transition from summer into autumn, as its made from layers so you can be warm, but have the option to cool yourself down,
or vice versa. Kylie's look was made up of an oversized checked shirt, a white tshirt dress and some thigh high boots. All finished off with her signature sunglasses
and a big handbag.

And here's what I managed to create with a budget of only £30,
using clothing from Boohoo.

My look is slightly different, as I was only wanting to be inspired by her outfit, I didn't want to completely copy it.

Shirt - £20 - click here
Dress - £15 - click here

I also used my own thigh high boots, which I bought from eBay. Just search 'thigh high boots' and you'll find thousands of different styles.

I did go over budget by £5, however, you can see that I've managed to recreate a celebrity inspired look for such a small amount compared to what Kylie paid! Why don't you have a go at creating your favourite style icon's look?

Want free next day delivery, today only? Use the code "NEXTDEL" up until 6pm tonight. Also get 20% off tops and knitwear using the code "TOPIT" today only.

Asarii Vanilla Pod Mud Masks *

27 August 2015

Recently I was sent the Asarii Vanilla Pod Mud Mask and I am very happy with it!
Asarii is a UK based beauty, health and skincare brand specialising in mud masks, using natural and healthy ingredients, which are gluten free and vegan safe, which not only moisturise but detoxify and clear your skin.

Asarii currently have three different flavour masks, the Vanilla Pod, which gives a high quality facial cleanse with moisturing properties, made for sensitive skin. The Chocolate mud mask reinvigorates tired skin and is the best for combination to normal skin, and the newest flavour, Green Tea, which tackles blemishes and oily skin!

Click here to find your perfect mask!

After using my mask, my skin felt very soft and it did seem brighter! I have extremely dry skin and it did help in some areas, however I don't find it to be as moisturising as it promised. But I still did love using it! The scent of the mask is exactly like vanilla ice cream so I do want to eat it!

The mud masks are recommended to use 2-3 times a week, for about 15 minutes each time! After a few weeks of doing this routine, you should see a difference in your skin! Simply apply a thin and even layer of the mask and relax! Its made to not dry hard on the skin, so this product is really easy to take off unlike some face masks!

Remember to post your #asariiselfie on instagram! And tag @asarii_uk !

The pots you get are supposed to last 1 month, and there is an option when buying online  to do a 'subscription and save' which means that you are automatically send one very month, at a discounted price! All masks are £21.99, and postage to the UK is only £1.99, delivery to the rest of the world varies by location!

Check out Asarii's website here!

OOTD - Sun, Moon and Stars

22 July 2015

Hello! Here's my attempt at trying to look summery, while still sticking to my "always wear black" theme! I do love this outfit though, and I hope you do too!

This dress is from Motel Rocks, and I loooovvvveee it! I really like the sun, moon and stars  pattern in general, but on this dress I love it even more. Its a short body con with an almost 90s style halter top!

I also wore the kimono from my last blog post (told you I never take it off!) Aswell as these striped platform sandals and some lilac sunglasses!

These sandals are by far my most favourite sandals I have ever bought. They were £14 from primark and are really surprisingly comfortable! They are black and white striped and have a 2 inch platform to give a bit of extra height while staying flat and comfy!
And the sunglasses are from Topshop! They have lilac flames and blue sides and are a mixture between cat eye shaped and that classic wayfarer style!

I also wore a bright pink lip to try to add a slight more pop of colour!

As usual, click the links below to shop!

Sandals - Primark - £14
Kimono -Newlook (kids) - £9.99 (sold Out)

Fuerteventura OOTD

13 July 2015

I'm back from my holiday! Its taken ages to get this up, but after coming back from Fuerteventura, I went straight on holiday again, this time with family.

Heres just a little outfit of the night, which I wore on a night time when we went climbing about on some rocks and then for dinner!

I wore this amazing kaftan (which I haven't taken off since!) from New Look. Its actually from the kids section! No one ever really looks in the kids section, but a lot of things will actually fit adult sizes! This kaftan is a bit too big for me and its only a size M, so a large will probably fit anywhere up to an adult size 14 I would say! Keep a look out in the kids sections of stores now and again, you can often find really funky pieces, and they are always a lot cheaper than adults clothing!

I also wore a simple grey crop top from Topshop ages ago and these pretty lace trimmed shorts from MissPap. This style of shorts are very in at the moment and this website is one of the cheapest place that I have found them, so I recommend looking through their site! They have loads of different patterns and trims and things, so have a look before you go on your hols!

Kaftan - £9.99 - New Look Kids (sold out)
Crop Top - £6 - Topshop (sold out)
Shorts - £15.99 - MissPap (click here)

P.S. the hospital looking band thing is the hotel band!

Graduate Fashion Week 2015 : a backstage look

1 June 2015

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to work backstage at Graduate Fashion Week 2015 in London. The day was a great experience and even though it was extremely tiring (I had to get up at 5:30am  ) it was so worth it! I was working with my university, Salford, backstage as a dresser for the models, helping with fittings and rehearsals, as well as dressing the models for the actual show. I managed to get a few pictures backstage, so thought I'd show you what its like behind the runway!

I don't want to go into too much detail about how the day went as it could get boring, so I'll just tell you highlights and show you lots of pictures! Also, as I was working, I didn't take my camera, so all pictures were taken on my phone (hopefully they
aren't too fuzzy!)

I was dressing models for 4 designers; Joanne Chiu, Jessica Walker, Shaunnah Timma and Foteini Traka. And my main model Holly Foxton, from FM London Management, and I also worked with Svetlana Vorobjova, from Elite Models London. And the category my models and collections were in was Tibetan.

All hair and makeup done on the day was by Bourjois Paris, using only their products.

This was one of my favourite collections. It was mesh, neoprene and holographic film beachwear. The collection had all sorts; jumper, tracksuits, bikinis and coats! In this image is my two models, Holly, looking at me, and Svetlana lining up for their show.
Designer : Jessica Walker

This was by far my most favourite collection of the day! The pieces were made from dyed leather and snakeskin, fur, as well as velvet and multiple metalic materials. They were extremely well fitted and were almost ballerina like, in a dark way, which I loved! The headpieces were all handmade and sprayed with glitter, and tiny crystals hung from them too. I would definitely wear pieces from this collection!
Designer : Foteini Traka

Check out her portfolio here

My university also had a large stall full of portfolios from the design group, and from the styling and image making group. The way they were set out with the lightbulbs and school tables looked amazing, and it drew the largest crowd there!
Also, Salford University has already won some amazing awards and job opportunities, however, as they haven't been officially announced, I can't say!

As I was backstage the whole time, I didn't get to take any photos of the actual show, so I have added some press photographs here. Enjoy!

My Top 5 Drugstore Makeup Primers

17 May 2015

Hello! I never used to use primer when doing my makeup, but once on a shopping trip a year ago or so, I decided to pick one up and test it out. Since then I have been hooked! I have never put on any makeup without using a primer since then. I have tested out a fair few primers and have came up with a list of my 5 favourite, all from the drug store!

If you aren't too sure what a primer is or how you'd use one, basically it's a product that you use right after any skin care items, and before putting on any makeup. Its primes the skin. Primers come in all different types; some moisturise, some will help to keep the face matte and some help your skin stay clear as they provide a barrier between your pores and the makeup; and usually all of them will try to help your makeup last longer.
So for example, on a morning, I will cleanse my face, then wash and exfoliate it as I have been having very dry skin lately. I then sometimes moisturise I prefer night time moisturisers so I don't always use a day time one) I then use a primer, wait for it to sink in and then put on my makeup. If I'm not wearing makeup that day, I will still usually put on a primer as they keep my face matte without drying my skin out, and also I
 just like them!

Witch Anti-Blemish Skin Clearing Primer
I'll start by telling you the one I like best but is very hard to find. Its the Witch Skin Clearing Primer. I have reviewed this product before, which you can read here.
I am unsure as to whether this primer is still being sold or if its still being made, as you can sometimes find it in stores and sometimes its like it never existed! Also, every time it does come back into shops, its a different price. I have bought it for £6.99 one month and the next time I went to purchase it, its been 80p. I've just ran out and I have my fingers crossed that it'll come back soon!
This primer certainly does everything it claims! It provides an invisible barrier on the face when used, which is very mustering without leaving my skin shiny. It also stops breakouts of spots almost completely! Its like a miracle product. Read a full review of this product further back in my blog, or click the link above.

Philosophy the present
My next favourite is Philosophy's the present. I am unsure as to if this actually counts as 'drug store / highstreet product' as I see it as a more luxury brand (that might just be me though) however, I bought this is Boots, which is definitely a high street store!  This product claims to even out fine lines, wrinkles and pores leaving the skin smooth and makeup looking flawless. Before buying this, I did a lot of research on it as its a bit more expensive as I'd usually buy, at £22, however I was extremely impressed at what everyone had been writing about it so the next day, I went out and bought it!
This primer definitely helps my makeup last longer! I used it at about 9 in the morning and my makeup was still almost perfect looking at 9pm! I am unsure about if it does even out fine lines and wrinkles as I wouldn't say I have too many of those, but it does keep my skin from looking dry and my makeup does look great while using it. Once its on, you do have to wait 2-3 minutes for it to sink into the skin and for it to become less sticky, before using makeup but its worth it. Its also infused with lavender oil which is known to have antibacterial and antiseptic properties which is supposed to help with the skins condition, however the smell is quite strong so if you don't like lavender or are allergic to it, I'd stay clear.

£22 - Boots, online or instore - click here

Nivea Express Hydration Primer
This is my favourite for when my skin is looking extra dry! I'd say its on parr with the Philosophy primer in my opinion, but for different reasons. I have dry patches over my cheeks and on my nose sometimes which can show up when I'm wearing foundation, but this product stops that completely! It absorbs almost immediately into the skin and it helps my makeup to glide on really easily. My makeup looks great when I use it and even though it is mainly for moisturising, it doesn't leave my face looking oily or wet and it does help makeup stay on for longer. I also really like how cheap it is! If you like Nivea products then I definitely recommend this primer.

£4.99 - Superdrug/Boots, online and instore - click here

MUA Matte Perfect Primer
This is my favourite to use when I'm going on a night out or to a party etc. I don't really like using it throughout the day though. The MUA Matte Perfect primer is used mainly to control and reduce shine, therefore keeping your face matte. When using this, I tend to only use it where I get oily as it can make my makeup look heavier than it actually is, but not in a cake way. I use quite sheer foundations, but when you use this product, it becomes full coverage. Maybe this is because this primer has a tint to it so it does provide a bit of extra coverage than maybe I'm used to. However, I do like this product as it definitely keep your face matte, which is what it claims to do. It doesn't make my dry patches more prominent which sometimes matte products do too. Its also the cheapest primer I've found so is good if you're on a budget!

£4 - Superdrug, online and instore - click here

Collection Primed and Ready
My last favourite is Collection's Primed and Ready Soothing Makeup Primer. This primer is the first one I have every tried, and the one which has the best looking packaging in my opinion!! This primer is really good short term, however it doesn't help makeup last a long time. But for the first few hours of using it, your makeup will look a million dollars! After then it can start to make my skin look a bit dry and patchy. It helps makeup glide on for an easier application and it does reduce pores and fine lines. My favourite thing about this primer is its feel! It is kind of a gel, which when rubs in almost completely disappears to feeling like nothing which is a really interesting thing to put on! When I use this I alway put a bit extra on my hand just to play with! (Thats probably really weird, but if you go out and test this, you'll see what I mean!)

£5.99 - Boots/Superdrug, online and instore - click here

Hope this post helps you in some way! Each of these primers are amazing in different ways and I hope you find one which works great for you! Once you start to use a primer, you'll never go back to wearing makeup without it - its addictive!
Let me know some of your favourites! :)

P.S. my next few posts will be holiday related as I'm going to Fuerteventura in June! Expect some summery clothing hauls and a lookbook or two! :))))

Burberry Kisses *

23 April 2015

I was kindly nominated to receive two different shades of Burberry Kisses, Burberry's new buildable and hydrating lipstick. I was really impressed with the samples so I just had to blog about it!

This spring, Burberry has introduced a new collection of lipsticks, Burberry Kisses. The collection has 28 shades of moisturising but buildable lipsticks which allow you to choose the intensity of colour on your lips as well as giving you up to six hours of hydration. The formula is enriched with lavender, green tea and rosehip extracts which give the lipsticks a really natural smell and very lightweight feel on the lips.

Firstly, the lipstick samples came packaged in a white box, which when opened, showed all the different samples and your boxed lipstick. The lipstick itself is then boxed in a textured cream box which tells you your sample shade. And then the lipstick is in Burberry's typical packaging, a dark metallic silver magnetic box (I don't know what you'd call the outside of a lipstick? haha) with their brands usual check pattern, on both the box and the lipstick bullet. I reeeaaally like how it was all put together!

I received the shades 'Sepia No. 85' and 'Nude Pink No. 05' which are both quite natural pink toned colours. The 'Sepia' one is more of a darker pink, but on the lips gives that "your lips but better" kind of colour. I really like this one! And the 'Nude Pink' is a pale pinky tone which when on looks like a tinted lip gloss, but less glossy, if that makes any sense! It reminds me of a Kylie Jenner type nudey-pink tone.

When on, the lipsticks feel like a lip balm. I really like this as it doesn't feel heavy or sticky but still look like a lipstick. I was also a bit sceptical about whether they are actually bulidable as I thought they may be a bit too sheer, but they are! My darker shade (Sepia No.85)  is definitely buildable, in which it looks like a tinted lip balm with one coat, and a full on lipstick with 3 coats. I love the look of it when I have 3 coats! And the lighter one (Nude Pink No.05)  is less buildable, but still is. I find that it looks sheer, and sticks to the dryer parts of my lips, however with more than one coat, it starts to look really nice.

Burberry Kisses are available online here, aswell as in stores now. They are £25 each with free shipping and returns to the UK. They are also available in certain department stores such as selected Debenhams and Fenwicks.
